Nav Jeevan provides a nurturing and safe environment for street children in Varanasi, India. It offers education, emotional support, and medical care to give these kids the tools for a brighter future.
In March 2024, I was lucky to volunteer there, spending afternoons from Monday to Saturday helping the children with their English and sharing moments of learning and laughter. I also collaborated closely with Jesumiel Barra, the inspiring founder, to create high-quality photographic materials to share their story. These photos help capture the attention of potential donors and secure the essential resources Nav Jeevan needs to continue its noble mission.
This experience gave me so much more than I could give. The children opened their hearts to me, teaching me about resilience, hope, and the true meaning of community.
The kids were told to put on a happy face. For some, it meant flashing every tooth; for others, a shy, almost secret smile. And for a few, it meant nothing at all.
